Initiative Science is proud to announce "Sapere Aude!" (Dare To Know) Metropolitan Detroit's Premier Summer Science Day Camp Series.  On our 10th anniversary, it is an honor to be chosen to provide 8 weeks of summer programming for the Detroit Children's Museum--America's third oldest.  The 25,000 Sq. Ft. renovation of an existing Detroit Edison power plant facility was converted into a beautiful museum in 2000. The first 32 applicants who properly complete the enrollment process will be admitted.  An entertaining, yet rigorous curriculum will cover 20+ forms of interdisciplinary math and science during the 24-40 hour program.  Participants will spend half of each day conducting hands-on labs.  The other half of the 6-hour-day (up to 10 hours if the extended day option is chosen) will be spent exploring a select sampling of the 100,000 artifacts the Detroit Science Center and Children's museum has accumulated for many years!  Activities include, several anatomical dissections, a trivia competition, plant mini-labs, planetarium show, native species identification, fossil dig and an award ceremony.  Visual, auditory and kinesthetic learners are all facilitated via this award-winning, pedagogical masterpiece.  See you this summer!
